I have been a Cayenne fan for sometime now and use it for everything, for muscle aches, stomach pains, circulation, blood pressure to tooth ache, it works like a dream for me, eliminating pain in minutes if not seconds, Drinking a teaspoon of Cayenne in herbal tea has become a norm for my family, and in fact when used to the “bite” is preferred to normal tea and has worked wonders for the family, preventing colds and our general well being.
Doing research, when starting my blog, introduced me to an important fact that kept coming up in most articles on the benefits of Cayenne, and that was, find the hottest Cayenne Pepper or Chili that you can, the benefits are tremendous compared to the normal Cayenne Pepper in the supermarket.
Seeing this, I called the help line provided on the bottle of Cayenne Pepper from my spice rack, and requested the heat rating of the product. The answer came back as 30 000 – 40 000 SHU (Scoville heat units – a unit of measuring the heat of Cayenne or Chili)
Which is, according to the experts, not hot enough and contains carriers and other fillers, minimizing the effect you are trying to achieve.
Well I had always thought that my supermarket Cayenne was hot and as I mentioned, made me feel well all over, but nevertheless, set out on a mission to find the hottest Cayenne that I could find, (what a mission) After much searching I found some that was hotter, (about double) and started using that in my tea, well I had hit new horizons, I thought I could handle heat, I was mistaken, this added a new word to my vocabulary, “HOT” I now understand the Indian community’s use of the hosepipe next to the toilet, but WOW, what a difference, IT has started clearing my nose polyps that I have had for decades, headaches gone, energy levels increased, I feel really well.
Cayenne Pepper / Chili cannot harm you, it just stings, which creates blood flow, it helps to unblock the venous structure allowing blood to get to the tiniest of veins, lowering cholesterol and balancing blood pressure, relieving headaches, blood clots, and circulation problems.
With regular use the mouth and body get used to the heat, so I suggest start slowly, and increase dosages cautiously until you are able to take a full teaspoon of hot Cayenne, three times a day in warm water or your favorite herbal tea.
There are very hot chilies, the hottest are African Bird Chili 100 000 – 250 000 SHU and the hottest, Habanero 150 000- 500 000 SHU, these pure chilies are to be handled with care and used in moderation and although quite pricey, last a long time, remember to store Cayenne in a dark cool place, as it is very light sensitive and will loose its power if left out.
Try it and reply to this article below, I would like to see how it works for you. Good Luck
